Remember the small town community picnic? This is an opportunity for families of all kinds to come and enjoy the southern end of River's Edge Natural Area as a picnic site and place to play. Participants are invited to bring a picnic meal, chairs or blankets and gather at the south end by the shelter. We'll have community lawn games set up, thanks to the mobile Recreation Trailer; we might even have an egg-and-spoon race!. Folks can also join in to hear stories told at the education station nearby, and bring fishing poles for Bass Pond, too! There is a fishing dock nearby, and pit toilet at the south shelter. Plenty of shade and game space in our "mowed prairie" area. Friendly pets must be on 8' leash and are welcome. Don't forget your camera! Registration recommended
