Natural Areas After Dark - Mixed Ages

Here it is...the last sky gazing event of the season! Come explore the science of astronomy with members of the Northern Colorado Astronomical Society (NCAS) as they share their telescopes to view stars, galaxies, planets, and more. Enjoy an up-close view of the dark skies over Sylvan Dale Ranch. Dress warmly for cooling evening temperatures and bring binoculars if you have them. Weather dependent. Registered participants will be notified if the program is canceled, so please pre-register, and if the weather is questionable, check your email before leaving home. Sylvan Dale Ranch is located just west of Loveland between mile markers 84 and 83 on Hwy 34, before the Big Thompson Canyon. As you near the ranch from the east (Loveland), watch for the covered wagons on the right (north) side of the road. The wagons will signal that you are approaching the ranch entrance. Turn right (north) through the entryway, drive down the hill past the Sylvan Dale horse barn on your right, and continue across the Big Thompson River bridge. Then stay straight, past the old silo, to the large parking area on your right. Look for event signs along the way. If you miss the first entrance, not to worry, just turn right before the Dam Store, onto County Road 22H, then follow signs to turn left (north) onto County Road 31D, past the Sylvan Dale horse barn and across the Big Thompson River, and at the old silo continue straight to the large parking area on your right.
