Community Events - Adult Programs

This drop-in style Open House event will provide opportunities for prospective volunteers to learn about the three "tracks" of volunteering with Open Lands & Trails: Stewardship: Raptor monitoring, habitat restoration (native plantings, weed removal, seed collection, clean-ups), trail maintenance, pollinator garden care, and citizen science projects. Public Outreach: Nature cabin docent team, trail host program, event booth staffing, "natural areas after dark" program support, presenting public programs, leading guided walks (wildflowers, birds, geology, other topics you might suggest), plus training options offered for these opportunities. Education: Environmental education field trips for grades K-5 (spring and fall), monthly preschool environmental education programs (PEEPs), "clue table" staffers for Critter Scene Investigations, history tours, and other programs. Initial training sessions for spring 2024 school field trips are available for sign-up on the March Offero calendar. We have an awesome team of volunteers and newcomers are always needed to meet demand and use of our natural area sites and trails. Please consider attending this no-obligation session. Open Lands staff and current volunteers will be on hand to to provide information and answer questions about all volunteer positions. Sign-up appreciated but not required for attendees. Registration will provide you with an automated open house reminder and our monthly email news/calendar of opportunities.

Minimum Participants: 10
Maximum Participants: 99

My wife and I recently moved to Colorado (from Pennsylvania) and have enjoyed working with local Community groups. In addition to Open Land and Trails have the pleasure of working with passionate folks at the Larimere County Food Bank, Loveland Habitat, Rialto Theater, Gardens on Spring Creek and the Lincoln Center. Enjoy biking, hiking, pickle ball and reading in my spare time.
