Willow Bend Grand Opening

 06/05/2025  |  03:00 PM - 05:00 PM
Willow Bend Natural Area (2538 E 1st St)

Special Events / Openings - Mixed Ages

The Loveland Parks & Recreation Department is excited to announce the grand opening of our new Willow Bend Park and Natural Area. Please plan to arrive between 2:00-2:45 p.m., to park and walk to the picnic pavilion for the ceremony, which will begin at 3:00pm. Willow Bend features a new 12-acre park including a sports field, picnic plaza and shade pavilion, walking paths, year-round restrooms and Loveland’s first universally accessible playground. Willow Bend Park is also directly connected to the new Willow Bend Natural Area, a 150-acre natural area site including an environmental education amphitheater, four ponds, an accessible fishing dock, and amazing wetland and riparian habitat. The grand opening will also include the opening of a new 1.8-mile paved recreation trail segment meandering through the park and natural area along the Big Thompson River. The new trail will connect from Willow Bend to Old St Louis Natural Area at a new pedestrian-activated crossing of Boise Avenue. Event parking will be located on the east side of the park, using a temporary entrance off Corvus Drive. Watch for signs directing to parking (please do not use the main entrance). Biking, carpooling and walk-in access are also encouraged for opening day. For more information about Willow Bend Natural Area, visit www.lovgov.org/willowbendnaturalarea.
