Guided Walk: Nature, Birding, History - Mixed Ages

Interested in Colorado history? Come learn about the historical significance of Loveland's Mountain Park in this new public program. Educational Program volunteers will be on hand to present four different subjects, each at their own location in the park. For example, at the large stone picnic shelter, you'll learn about the Civilian Conservation Corps. And at the Louis Papa homestead site, you'll learn about the Homestead Act and challenges facing homesteaders. A geology lesson and the history of Hwy 34 round out the stations. This event is geared for students ages 9 to 90 and you may attend all four stations, or only those that appeal to your interests.

Minimum Participants: 10

Eldon G - EE History Guide

I have spent most of my life in Colorado. I have a lifelong interest in nature as a photographer, an avid reader, a hiker (really an ambler), a student, and a teacher. I enjoy sharing nature with others and have been told that I make it easy and fun for my audiences. I have volunteered with the Open Lands and Trials Division since March 2018. I have volunteered as an instructor, trail host and guided walk leader. I am a Certified Interpretive Guide. I look forward to sharing time in Nature wit
