This training certifies volunteers as Trail Hosts to be the "eyes and ears" of Loveland Open Lands & Trails, gathering data, noting maintenance needs, and interacting with the public at city natural areas. No experience necessary, all training and materials are free. First 30 min. of training will be informational: what trail hosts do, time commitments, locations for hosting, scheduling, and a training overview. Based on this information, those interested in trail hosting may stay for the remainder of the training session. The training will include more detailed information on the above subjects along with regulations and resources at each area, making contact with the public, and reporting data collected while hosting. As a group we will decide on a date for a van tour of all the sites to be held after this initial training. A love of the outdoors and willingness to interact with visitors is a definite plus. Trail hosts may also enjoy fishing, hiking, bird watching, walking your dog (on a leash), looking for plants, even doing plein air painting while volunteering! Appropriate for those previously trained who would like a refresher. Background check required to host. Note this Sunday afternoon training is the weekend before Memorial Day.
