Earth Day River Cleanup
04/22/2025
| 01:00 PM - 05:00 PM
Fairgrounds Park (700 S Railroad Ave)
Volunteer Opportunity - Mixed Ages
Join us for a group cleanup of open spaces and parks along the Big Thompson River through Loveland. The family-friendly event will begin at Fairgrounds Park and teams will travel up and down the river corridor removing trash and debris. Volunteers are encouraged to gather at Fairgrounds after the cleanup for a mini-celebration and recognition of participants and partner organizations. This collaborative project of Open Lands & Trails, Wildlands Restoration Volunteers (WRV), Big Thompson Watershed Coalition (BTWC), and Breeze Thru Car Wash will support the health of the Big Thompson River. Volunteers should wear closed-toe shoes, long pants, and dress in layers for the weather. Bring a full water bottle, sun protection, and your favorite work gloves (we'll have extras, too). Meet at the SOUTH pavilion (changed from north pavilion) of Fairgrounds Park for project details, safety talk, and materials. All tools and supplies will be provided. This project has a waitlist, so please update your registration if plans change so others can participate. Thank you! The Loveland Community Stewardship Initiative is a community-wide effort to enhance the city’s public lands through engagement, education and volunteer stewardship, in partnership with WRV, BTWC, and other local organizations, funded by a grant from Great Outdoors Colorado (GOCO).
