Native Garden Workshop: Selecting Plants for Your Home Landscape
04/12/2023
| 09:30 AM - 10:30 AM
River's Edge Natural Area (960 W 1st St)
Guided Walk: Nature, Birding, History - Adult Programs
Not sure which plants to buy at local nurseries this spring? Kathy Maher from the Colorado Native Plant Society will help you develop a list of native, low-water shrubs, flowering perennials, and grasses that are likely to succeed in your yard. Learn the factors to consider for matching the right plant to the right place, find out how to test for "well-draining" soil, and get your native-plant gardening questions answered. Bring a plant list if you want to discuss your choices and ideas with Kathy and other participants. Handouts provided. Bring a notepad and pen, a list of plants you're considering (optional), and your questions. Meeting point: Triangular native plant garden just west of the main parking lot.
