Volunteers are needed for a greenhouse planting project at High Plains Environmental Center (HPEC). Native wetland plants will be divided and replanted into new containers at the HPEC greenhouse. Some native seed may also be planted in containers. New plants will overwinter at the greenhouse and be planted at a Loveland Open Lands restoration site along the west Big Thompson River. (Volunteers will also be needed for the on-site planting project next spring.) These projects are a partnership between the City of Loveland, High Plains Env. Ctr., and the Big Thompson Watershed Coalition. Update - work will be inside greenhouses, but morning temps could be in the 40s when we get started. Please dress accordingly with warm layers and footwear, and bring a travel mug if you'd like some hot cocoa! Volunteers should bring water and work gloves if you have them. Tools will be provided. Registration requested in case of project changes or updates.
