Art in Nature Sketching and Journaling
06/26/2025
| 03:00 PM - 05:00 PM
Boedecker Bluff (4750 W 1st St)
Outdoor Skills - Adult Programs
Boedecker Bluff Natural Area offers stunning views over the reservoir, of nearby foothills and distant mountains. There is also a Great Blue Heron rookery on an island in the reservoir, We will be learning an easy way to draw a Great Blue Heron and add the big bird to our sketch of the waterline and mountains beyond. We'll revisit the basics of depth and perspective that were part of the May sessions (that had some road closures making attendance more difficult) and also do a short exploration of the site. Parking is in the neighborhood north of west 1st Street. I will meet participants at the corner of Rossum Dr. and Scenic Dr. before walking down to the natural area. Registered participants will receive an email with a map prior to attending. Art in Nature sessions are designed to make beginners very comfortable and encouraged with sketching and journaling, and to make everyone more knowledgeable about the nature around them. Both the Thursday afternoon and Friday morning sessions cover the same material. Times and locations of Art in Nature programs vary with changes in the seasons.
