Guided Walk: Nature, Birding, History - Mixed Ages

This sunset guided walk will take place at Mariana Butte Natural area. We will meet in the Mariana Butte Golf Course parking lot, 701 Clubhouse Dr. Since the sun is setting earlier now and this walk will take longer our time is set for 6:00pm to 7:30pm. Mariana Butte offers great views of the Front Range as well as Loveland. We will explore the geologic, natural, and human history of the area. We will climb to near the top of the butte before continuing around the base of the butte. The soft surface trail is well maintained. The actual top requires some scrambling over rocks. You may chose whether you want to do this, time will be allotted. Wear good walking shoes, water is a good idea and you may want a walking stick. This walk is lead by Eldon Grimm, Certified Interpretive Guide, who looks forward to sharing this uniquely interesting site with you.

I have spent most of my life in Colorado. I have a lifelong interest in nature as a photographer, an avid reader, a hiker (really an ambler), a student, and a teacher.
