Guided Walk: Nature, Birding, History - Mixed Ages
These monthly engaging walks with Loveland Open Lands & Trails introduce you to the local natural areas you can use for free. Naturalist Rein K. will help you connect to nature and Loveland's open lands. The program will include an informational walk through Viestenz-Smith Mountain Park, as Rein points out native plants and signs of wildlife to highlight the biodiversity present. A visit to the Environmental Education cabin is included. Please prepare for the weather (appropriate clothing, good walking shoes, and water). There are vault restrooms available (no running water available in the park). We will be on level gravel and paved trails for a 1-mile walk. To park in the lower parking lot, west end, turn to the left after entering the main driveway and head down the hill. Then walk across the bridge to meet Rein in the stone CCC picnic shelter area (look for the green flag).
