This Open House - a drop in style event, will provide opportunities for learning about the three "tracks" of volunteering for Open Lands and Trails. Stewardship track: site restoration, site clean-up, planting, invasive species removal, special projects, trail maintenance, native garden care, and citizen science projects Public Outreach track: nature cabin docent team, trail host program, event booth staffing, astronomy and storytelling night support, presenting public programs, leading guided walks (including bird walks), plus training options offered for these opportunities Education track: youth group nature instruction, history tours, field trip educators (spring and fall sessions), assisting with monthly preschool environmental education programs (PEEPs), and "clue table" staffers to help young people solve our Critter Scene Investigations (1/2 day field trip in town) We have an awesome team of volunteers, and still the need for more to meet demand and use of our natural area sites and trails. CancelI have spent most of my life in Colorado. I have a lifelong interest in nature as a photographer, an avid reader, a hiker (really an ambler), a student, and a teacher. I enjoy sharing nature with others and have been told that I make it easy and fun for my audiences. I have volunteered with the Open Lands and Trials Division since March 2018. I have volunteered as an instructor, trail host and guided walk leader. I am a Certified Interpretive Guide. I look forward to sharing time in Nature wit
I am retired from Occupational therapy. I have worked in this field for 24 years. I was a preschool teacher for 10 years before going to school for OT. I have lived in Colorado for 66 years I love the out doors, the mountains and praires, I enjoy, hiking, biking, camping, skiing, bird watching, dog training, fishing, swimming and volunteering. I currently am a trail host, helping with PEEPS, and Docent at Viestenz-Smith Mountain park.
My wife and I recently moved to Colorado (from Pennsylvania) and have enjoyed working with local Community groups. In addition to Open Land and Trails have the pleasure of working with passionate folks at the Larimere County Food Bank, Loveland Habitat, Rialto Theater, Gardens on Spring Creek and the Lincoln Center. Enjoy biking, hiking, pickle ball and reading in my spare time.
