The Mystery of Owls - A Silent Predator
06/11/2025
| 04:00 PM - 05:00 PM
Viestenz-Smith Mountain Park (Big Thompson Canyon)
Specialty Program - Adult Programs
Certified Interpretive Guide Terri M. will offer insights into the life of owls, how they are equipped to prey upon small mammals, and their importance in keeping rodent populations under control. Participants will also be encouraged to learn how to protect and support our local owl populations. Please meet at the Nature Education Cabin in the east end of the park (the historic log cabin). Here we will have the opportunity to view owl specimens in the cabin collection and hear the presentation. The cabin is ADA accessible (park in the west lower parking lot and enter the log cabin through the back door). Please dress for cooler canyon weather and bring your filled water bottle (rustic cabin - no water, heat, or cooling).
