Join members of the Northern Colorado Astronomical Society (NCAS) for an up-close look at the night sky over the Rockies. Telescopes will be available for viewing stars, galaxies, and planets. Dress warmly for evening temperatures and bring binoculars if you have them. Must pre-register. This event will be held at Sylvan Dale Ranch. Sylvan Dale is west of Loveland on US 34, just before the Big Thompson Canyon (about 6 miles west of Wilson Ave., between mile markers 84 and 83). As you near the Ranch from the east (Loveland), watch for the covered wagons on the right (north) side of the road. The wagons will signal that you are approaching the Ranch Entrance. Turn right (north) through Ranch Entryway, down the hill past the Sylvan Dale Horsebarn, and across the Big Thompson River bridge. Watch for event signs along the way, and at the old silo continue straight to the large parking area on your right. If you miss the first entrance, not to worry, just turn right before the Dam Store, onto County Road 22H, then follow signs to turn left (north) onto County Road 31D. From there, go past the Sylvan Dale Horsebarn and across the Big Thompson River. After the bridge, watch for event signs along the way, and at the old silo continue straight to the large parking area on your right.
