Join Certified Interpretive Guide Eldon Grimm for a Sunset Guided Walk at Sunset Vista Natural Area. Sunset Vista Natural Area was an active farm dating back to the late 1800’s and early 1900’s. Many crops, including sugar beets and wheat, were grown on the farm. The farm also was home to a selection of farm animals including dairy cattle. What we will see as we walk the soft surface trail is a transition from abandoned farm fields to a restored natural environment. Eldon will help you identify native species brought back to the site, along with some non-natives you may want to be aware of. The soft surface trail passes through a variety of habitats, including wetlands where the plants tend to encroach on the trail, so wear long pants and close-toed shoes. Sunscreen and insect repellant are advised.
