PEEPs Preschool Environmental Ed Program - Mixed Ages

This PEEPs self-guided walk for kids and families is set up at Morey Wildlife Reserve. There are lots of little places to explore and some river access at the north end of the reserve. Flags identify features to look for along the trails, including a few new bonus flags added for items just discovered! The optional scavenger hunt sheet is available on our website here: http://www.cityofloveland.org/Home/ShowDocument?id=52547. Morey Wildlife Reserve is west of Mariana Butte and down in the floodplain. There are a few benches here and there to rest upon. The full trail loop is 0.7 mile (shorter out-and-back option available, too). Public access via walk-in entrance at 5439 Cedar Valley Drive with parking available on Cedar Valley Drive and other neighborhood streets. Please Note: to protect the property’s sensitive natural resources, dogs and other domestic animals are prohibited on the property at all times. Bicycling is also prohibited. Bike racks are provided at the kiosk (200 ft past the entrance gate). Start at the gate at the bottom of the hill below the Cedar Valley roundabout. The first flag is near the bathroom on the opposite side of the trail. The flags will take you to the river access bench, look for the temporary geocache to register your success and find your small prize. You may then return the way you came or continue on the loop which is a bit longer. We hope that everyone will stop at the geocache to register participating so we can determine if this can be an ongoing option during the "Safer at Home" season. Due to the replacement of the restroom at Round Mountain, the Foothills Nature Trail mountain hike will be held in August.
