  Boedecker Bluff (4750 W 1st St)

Guided Walk: Nature, Birding, History - Mixed Ages

If full, put your name on the wait list, if we get 5 or more we'll host another walk. There is a second walk on Saturday Aug. 8 - same time, same place. This Sunset Guided Walk will take place at Boedecker Bluff Natural Area. Parking is available on nearby neighborhood streets, with a light-controlled crosswalk on First St. We will meet at the trail-head sign just downhill from First St. Boedecker Bluff is one of the newest Natural Areas in the Loveland Open Lands system. The neighborhood natural area offers natural-surface trails along the edge of the reservoir with fishing access (license required), opportunities for wildlife viewing and scenic views. Native trees and shrubs, including cottonwood, chokecherry, wild rose and currant offer diverse habitat for songbirds, raptors, small mammals and amphibians. The trail is a very easy, newly completed soft-surface trail. Wear comfortable walking shoes and you may want insect repellent.

Eldon Profile Photo

Eldon G - Guest Speaker

I have spent most of my life in Colorado. I have a lifelong interest in nature as a photographer, an avid reader, a hiker (really an ambler), a student, and a teacher. I enjoy sharing nature with others and have been told that I make it easy and fun for my audiences. I have volunteered with the Open Lands and Trials Division since March 2018. I have volunteered as an instructor, trail host and guided walk leader. I am a Certified Interpretive Guide. I look forward to sharing time in Nature wit
