PEEPs Exploration of Animal Adaptations for Winter
02/17/2022
| 10:00 AM - 10:45 AM
Chilson Senior Center (700 E 4th St)
PEEPs Preschool Environmental Ed Program - 2-5 years (pre-K)
We will meet both outside the Chilson Recreation Center and inside in the party room (to the left if you enter on the west side door = door nearer the lagoon). You'll have a chance to see how some animals stay warm during the winter inside the Party room and then try some snowshoes outside the west door before heading over to the Library (optional). We will work with the weather and plan to have our "winter den" boxes, some warm pelts to touch, and a craft sheet for you to take home to make your own "lynx paws." If there is snow on the ground you can try our snowshoes - they are a lot bigger than a lynx's or snowshoe hare's paws! After checking out our warm and wooly winter items, you can go into the Library to find books on winter animals. They are going to have a nice collection ready for our PEEP-ers!

Eldon G - PEEPs Helper
I have spent most of my life in Colorado. I have a lifelong interest in nature as a photographer, an avid reader, a hiker (really an ambler), a student, and a teacher. I enjoy sharing nature with others and have been told that I make it easy and fun for my audiences. I have volunteered with the Open Lands and Trials Division since March 2018. I have volunteered as an instructor, trail host and guided walk leader. I am a Certified Interpretive Guide. I look forward to sharing time in Nature wit
