The Preschool Environmental Education Programs offered to the public have been very successful for the last 3 1/2 years and may be expanding into one or more preschools as a monthly activity. We are looking for additional volunteers to help with this popular program. Each 1-hour program is currently offered twice per day, from 9:30-10:30 AM and 11:00 AM-12:00 PM, covering the same material, one day per month (third Thursday). Volunteers who are comfortable with teaching are encouraged to take on some of the teaching once they're trained. Additional assistants are also needed to help set up and reset between programs, prepare the snack, pass around pictures and other things to touch and feel, and help with games and activities. If the program expands into preschools, another story teller will also be needed (Many thanks to Linda M for her dedication over the last 3 1/2 years! but she is a busy lady who can help but not make all of the additional days). Background check required. This training is not required, but is helpful for first-time volunteers. Training for assistant positions is also available by signing up and attending PEEPs programs.
