Training Opportunity  -  Adult Programs

Note: This training will be covered in 2 sections. From 9-11:30 we’ll be going over the three 30-minute stations at the south end of Bass Pond. About noon to 2:30 we’ll be covering the two 45-minute walking lessons (Seed Dispersal and Scavenger Hunt). There will be a short lunch break at the picnic shelter in between. Are you passionate about the environment and do you enjoy working with children? This free training is available for any adult to help present our "Plants & Places" field trip programs to local school groups. Plants & Places is offered to 2nd and 3rd grade students at small group learning stations and on short hikes at River's Edge Natural Area. All training and materials provided. Adults 18+, background check required. Learning station topics cover information about the parts and lifecycles of plants, the importance of cottonwood galleries, how seeds are spread, using a low-power microscope to look at plant parts, and what poison ivy really looks like in this area. Also includes a relay race activity, and the Sun, Soil, Water and Air game. Training Opportunity - 30 minute preview, then stay for training if it appeals to you, no obligation to commit to teaching at this time. See our Open Lands Volunteer Opportunities and Environmental Education web page (www.lovgov.org/OLVOL) for more curriculum information. We will meet at River's Edge Natural Area, with the Loveland City Council Chambers as a back-up location if it rains. Sign up to be notified of changes due to weather or other conditions.
