Earth Day River Cleanup - Fairgrounds Park (700 S Railroad Ave)
Wednesday, 29 April 2026 @ 01:00 PM to 05:00 PM
Volunteer Opportunity - Mixed Ages
Join us for a group cleanup of open spaces and parks along the Big Thompson River through Loveland to support the health of the river. The family-friendly event will begin at Fairgrounds Park and teams will travel up and down the river corridor removing litter. Volunteers should wear closed-toe shoes, long pants, and dress in layers for the weather. Bring a full water bottle, sun protection, and your favorite work gloves (we'll have extras, too). Meet at the SOUTH pavilion of Fairgrounds Park for project details, safety talk, and materials. All tools and supplies will be provided. Volunteers can gather after the cleanup for a mini-celebration and recognition of participants and partner organizations. This is a collaborative project of Open Lands & Trails, Wildlands Restoration Volunteers (WRV), Big Thompson Watershed Coalition (BTWC), and Breeze Thru Car Wash to support the Big Thompson River. The Loveland Community Stewardship Initiative is a community-wide effort to enhance the city’s public lands through engagement, education and volunteer stewardship, in partnership with WRV, BTWC, and other local organizations.
